Server logs

Like most websites, our server keeps standard access logs: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use them only to keep the site secure and working.

Data stored in your browser

The games use your browser's local storage to remember things on your device, such as best scores, a game in progress, the games you opened last, the difficulty you picked and whether sound is on.

Saved game data is not sent to Google Analytics. You can remove browser saves and your stored notice preference by clearing site data for games.goprogs.com in your browser settings.

Online play in Rung

Rung bot matches run on your device without sending gameplay to the online-room service. If you create or join an online room, the following is sent to a hosted realtime database (Supabase) so every player sees the same game:

• the display name you type in,
• a random player ID generated in your browser,
• the room and the state of the game being played.

Other players in the room can see your display name, so pick one you are comfortable sharing. No email address, password or account is involved.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 on every page. It sets first-party analytics cookies, such as _ga, to understand visits and tell browser visits apart. It loads with the page and does not wait for a consent choice.

We do not show advertising, and Google Signals and advertising-personalization features are disabled in our tag configuration. We send a game-start event with only the game name and solo, same-device or online mode, a game-load failure with only the game name, and a Rung connection failure without room data. We do not send saved progress, scores, names, room identifiers, board state or search text as custom Analytics data. Our tag accepts only known public page paths, removes query strings and fragments, and reduces referrers to their origin. Unknown paths are reported as the 404 page. Only predefined public campaign labels are retained; arbitrary campaign values are discarded.

A first-visit notice on the landing page explains cookie use and links to our Terms of Use and this policy. It is informational: Analytics does not wait for the notice to be dismissed. A browser-local preference remembers that the notice has been shown.

Children

The games are suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this page

When a game or feature changes how data is handled, we will update this page and the date at the top.
