How to play Minesweeper
Minesweeper is a logic puzzle. Mines are hidden under some of the squares; open every square that is not a mine to win. Each number tells you how many mines touch that square, counting diagonals.
Use the numbers to work out where the mines must be and flag them. The first click is always safe and opens an area to get you started. Easy is 9×9 with 10 mines, Medium is 16×16 with 40, and Hard has 99 mines.

Minesweeper questions
Is the first click safe in this Minesweeper?
Yes. Mines are placed after your first click, and that square and its neighbours are always clear.
How do I flag a mine on a phone?
Long-press a square, or turn on Flag mode and tap.
Do I ever have to guess in Minesweeper?
Sometimes. Boards are random, so a few positions cannot be solved by logic alone. The Hint button opens a safe square when you are stuck.
