How to play Word Guess
Word Guess is a word puzzle: find the hidden five-letter word in six tries. Type any real five-letter word and press Enter. Each letter then changes colour to show how close you are, so every guess narrows down the answer.
A green letter is in the word and in the right place. A yellow letter is in the word but in a different place. A grey letter is not in the word at all. The keyboard keeps the colours too, so you can see which letters are left.
Choose Daily for the puzzle that is the same for everyone today, with a new word every day, or Practice for as many random words as you like. Stats shows your wins, how many guesses they took and your daily streak. Your game is saved in your browser as you play.

Word Guess questions
What do the colours mean?
Green means the letter is in the word and in the right place. Yellow means the letter is in the word but somewhere else. Grey means the letter is not in the word at all.
Is the daily word the same for everyone?
Yes. Everyone who plays on the same date gets the same daily word, and a new one arrives at midnight in your time zone. Practice mode deals a random word whenever you like.
What happens with double letters?
Each letter is coloured only as many times as it appears in the answer. If you guess a word with two Es and the answer has one, only one E is marked green or yellow.
Which words are allowed?
Guesses must be real five-letter English words. The answers are common words in British spelling, such as MOULD, FIBRE and LITRE.
