How to play Connect Four

Connect Four is a two-player game on a grid seven columns wide and six rows high. Players take turns dropping a disc into a column, where it falls to the lowest empty space. The first to line up four discs in a row, across, down or diagonally, wins.

Red always drops first. If the grid fills up with no line of four, the game is a draw. Play the computer on Easy, Medium or Hard, or choose 2 players to take turns on one device.

Connect Four rules

• Players take turns dropping one disc into any column that is not full.
• A disc falls to the lowest empty space in its column.
• Four of your discs in a line, horizontal, vertical or diagonal, wins.
• If all 42 spaces fill with no line of four, the game is a draw.
